Virtual Reality for Corporate Events

Add Some Virtual Reality High-Tech Fun to Your Corporate Event

The problem with most corporate events? They’re boring. The experience for most attendees is often predictable, the content isn’t stimulating, and little attention went into providing activities that might motivate and spark some excitement from the group.

As a corporate event planner, your goal should be to create an event that will be enjoyed and remembered by the attendees, though this can be a little challenging to pull off.  As you begin to plan your event, (of course) you will need an adequate facility that offers the proper amount of space. It should be in a convenient location and you should do a site visit to ensure that it meets your expectations for cleanliness and comfort. People will need to eat and hopefully will enjoy the food that you select or that which is available in the area if they will eat on their own. Depending on the type of event you are putting together, consider adding music or creating a theme to establish a “mood” for the gathering.

Now that the basics are covered, you can really dive into how to get your event to stand out from the crowd. Consider adding some high-tech fun to your event, your attendees will love it.

Should You Consider Adding Virtual Reality Entertainment to Your Corporate Event?

With virtual reality you can create an experience that many of your attendees have not yet had an opportunity to be part of. It usually consists of a virtual reality booth or station where a person is wearing a headset that is connected to a gaming computer. A large screen TV is often connected as well so that others can see what the person wearing the headset sees and can be part of the fun. The individual wearing the headset becomes part of an interactive experience where they are using hand controllers to take actions such as shooting or drawing and moving their body as well. They may be playing a game such as Beat Saber or an experience such as Tilt Brush.

Virtual reality or VR as it is often known can be enjoyed by people of all ages and is quickly growing. Some recent statistics show the growth and adoption level of VR. According to TechJury…

  • The global AR and VR market is expected to grow to $209.2 billion by 2022
  • 14 million AR and VR devices were expected to be sold in 2019
  • Global VR video gaming revenues are expected to reach $22.9B in 2020
  • There are more than 171M VR users worldwide
  • 78% of Americans are familiar with VR technology now
  • USA was the region with the largest AR/VR spending in 2018 at $6.4B
  • Demand for standalone VR devices will grow over 16 times between 2018 and 2022
  • 70% of VR headset-owning consumers have bought a game on it
