Cristela Alonzo is one of stand-up comedy’s bold, new talents. With a powerful and engaging presence, she quips on her favorite topics such as pop culture, music, video games, and her life growing up in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
In the last 5 years, Cristela has performed stand-up in clubs and theatres across the country in several national tours, appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham”, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”, the South Beach Comedy Festival and the Latino Laugh Festival. She’s been a writer for shows on Comedy Central and MSN.
Cristela has won numerous awards for writing several short films that have screened at festivals nationwide, including Best Writing at the 48 Hour Film Festival and First Place at the Boston Comedy Festival. Most recently, Cristela was deeply honored to perform at the annual conference for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C.
When Cristela isn’t performing stand-up, writing, making films, playing video games, watching The Cosby Show and Golden-Girls reruns, or listening to musicals, she likes to sleep in her spare time.
