About Choir! Choir! Choir!

Choir! Choir! Choir! is one of the most joyful and original acts in the world of live entertainment. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the group was founded in 2011 by creative directors Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman — two artists who set out with a deceptively simple idea: get strangers together to sing some songs.

What started as a one-off surprise birthday party performance grew almost immediately into a recurring public phenomenon. Within months of their first public gathering in early 2011, attendance had ballooned from 20 people to over 100 weekly participants, drawn in by the energy, the inclusivity, and the startling realization that a room full of non-singers could produce something genuinely beautiful.

The format has always remained elegantly simple. Goldman focuses on creating the harmonic arrangements, while Adilman works the crowd — assigning vocal parts, building energy, and guiding the room through a short but effective rehearsal before bringing the whole thing together in a live performance. Attendees don’t audition. They don’t need sheet music. They just need to want to sing. The experience is consistently described as therapeutic, joyful, and community-building in the deepest sense.

Over the years, Choir! Choir! Choir! has expanded from weekly sessions at a Toronto bar to sold-out performances in some of the world’s most prestigious venues — Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Massey Hall, Place des Arts, Lincoln Center, Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the National Arts Centre, and the Luminato Festival, among many others. They have performed for causes ranging from Syrian refugee fundraising to tributes for Gord Downie and solidarity events at the U.S./Mexico border.

The group’s viral reach has been remarkable. Their collaboration with David Byrne on David Bowie’s “Heroes,” filmed at New York’s Public Theater in 2018, captivated the internet. Patti Smith, Brandi Carlile, Rufus Wainwright, Rick Astley, Tegan and Sara, and even Kermit the Frog have all joined the stage. Their October 2024 performance of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” with 2,500 people at Montreal’s Place des Arts — in Cohen’s own hometown — was captured on video and moved audiences worldwide to tears.

In 2025, Choir! Choir! Choir! appeared on Canada’s Got Talent, bringing their singular experience to a national television audience. Their 2026 North American tour features two major productions: The Mamma Mia! ABBA Sing-Along (June) and Landslide: Fleetwood Mac Sing-Along (September–November).
